DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

As a Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for getting successful partnerships to market by effectively understanding the market need and working with internal teams and external partners to implement the right strategy resulting in revenue growth for the company. You will have the strategic voice and decision-making influence in the business development function and interface directly with the engineering, operations, and sales teams. This is a quota-carrying role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy
Develop and closely manage strategic relationships with current ecosystems partners to
maximize long-term success and indirect revenue generation
Secure new ecosystem partnerships and manage multiple partner relationships; provide
continuous and consistent communication with our strategic partners
Leverage relationships creating partner value propositions based on company, partner or
customer needs to drive long-term value creation.
Deal Management
Identify market leaders in these segments and create a plan to effectively target these companies and start to penetrate these new markets
Drive the complete sales cycle including identifying key prospects, building strategic relationships, and closing the contracts
Identify and evaluate new markets for existing and new products through sales and other partnerships opportunities
Leadership and Team Success
Collaborate with the VP of Marketing, CTO, and the regional heads of Worldwide Sales to architect a business development strategy for new market expansion and revenue generation
Working closely with the Sales organization, identifying targets, and rapidly executing partnerships to drive revenue growth
Qualifications and professional experience requirements
Successful track record working in a fast-paced, matrixed dynamic startup environment
Demonstrated experience managing the whole process from strategy to drafting agreements, negotiation, and closing
Demonstrated success in market segment analysis and the identification of opportunities and
key customers/partners
Strong track record of successfully sourcing, closing, and managing ecosystem partnerships.
BS in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
MBA is highly desirable.
