Job Title: Migration Lead/Manager

Position Summary:

As an onsite Migration Lead/Manager at Evergent, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing a migration project from a legacy vendor to our SaaS-based system. You will be responsible for effectively communicating with customers, managing their expectations, resolving issues, ensuring scope management, and overseeing the development of migration scripts. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer management skills, deep expertise in BSS data models, a strong understanding of data migration processes, and hands-on experience in the ETL domain.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the end-to-end migration project from a legacy BSS (Business Support System) to Evergent's SaaS-based system, focusing on data migration activities.
2. Collaborate closely with offshore data migration teams and stakeholders to define comprehensive data migration strategies encompassing data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading processes.
3. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accurate mapping and seamless migration of data from the legacy system to the new system (Evergent).
4. Develop and maintain a robust data migration plan, including schedules, dependencies, and thorough data integrity validation mechanisms.
5. Oversee the execution of data migration activities, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards, data governance policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
6. Work in close collaboration with technical teams to identify and promptly resolve any data-related issues or discrepancies encountered during the migration process.
7. Conduct rigorous data validation and reconciliation to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of migrated data within the new system.
8. Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to establish data mapping rules, transformation logic, and business rules critical for a successful migration.
9. Develop ETL scripts if required, leveraging your hands-on experience in the ETL domain, to ensure efficient and reliable data transformation and loading.
10. Ensure meticulous documentation of data migration processes, including data mapping documents, migration scripts, and comprehensive validation reports.
11. Provide guidance and support to offshore teams, addressing any data-related concerns or questions from customers while offering clear and accurate explanations.
12. Monitor and report on the progress of data migration, promptly identifying potential risks, issues, and effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely project delivery.
13. Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to facilitate the smooth integration and implementation of the new system, emphasizing the importance of data-related aspects.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in leading and managing complex data migration projects, preferably within the PayTV industry.
2. Extensive understanding of data migration best practices, methodologies, and tools.
3. Proficiency in data profiling, data quality assessment, and data cleansing techniques.
4. Hands-on experience in the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) domain, including the ability to develop scripts for data transformation if required.
5. Familiarity with ETL tools and technologies, along with a strong understanding of data modeling principles and data mapping techniques.
6. Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and effectively managing data migration timelines.
